Pamela Shepherd (1951) Born of Irish and Scottish heritage and is the Matriarch of the family. Raised in the Midwest having four siblings she wanted to be her own person and do things most of her family said she couldn't, for one reason or another. Although she wasn't a rebel in any means, she actually was called a 'Goody-two shoes'. This didn't bother Pamela as she knew she had to remain true to herself as she had big aspirations of becoming a famous singer/ entertainer in the music business. She had been successful in her goal, but not to the extent that she had dreamed of because she put her daughter first. Her manager wanted to put her on the road for tours, but wasn't allowed to take her daughter with her. Pamela just couldn't leave her daughter to anyone, for any reason. So, she made her choice to stay around and raise her daughter in Florida. She sang in clubs, bar, pubs and at weddings receptions making a good living for the two of them. She did write two songs that were recorded with the a backup band but never released: "God's Greatest Gift" that she wrote for and about her daughter when she was very young; and the second was "Friends Only Say Hello (they never say good-bye)".
Pamela and her daughter Penelope Marie moved back to Michigan due to step-fathers passing and her family needed her. It was here that the conception of Mind Game (The Beginning) was born. In 1983, Pamela went to college to become a Freelance - Journalist. It was in one of her classes, Creative Writing, her instructor had given an assignment to do a rough draft of a story of their choosing. Her instructor raved about her draft so much that she directed Pamela to actually write the book. Thus Mind Game (The Beginning) was born. It was a very long process to complete the book. It was loaned to people to read chapters, then they were destroyed, so it was started over six times. Placed on a shelf for several years, 285 printed out pages in a box just lay collecting dust.
She eventually took another giant step in her lifes path and moved to California after her daughter grew up and got married. It was here that she tried her hand at becoming an artist, painting with oil paints and acrylic. Not wanting to be traditional at the time Pamela would paint on wood. Selling several paintings to friends. After a while her artistic brain was craving more. She need to see where she could go next. So, she became a florist for a short time. Proud of her ability to do much with all the talents she recognized God had given her she wanted to share this with the area she lived in. She was hired to do a dinner party table settings for twenty five tables. She also landed the flower order for the King and Queen of the Prom for the local high school. She was also hired to do a wedding for five hundred people but had to decline as her partner got very ill and couldn't help any longer. Then, she moved to Texas and this is where the book became to complete fruition and self published. It was in February of 2013 that Pamela finally got to know her nephews wife, Nicole and her ability to do professional editing. And the rest is history.
Pamela enjoys cooking, writing every moment she can. Loves to fish, camp when she can visit with friends and family during the cooler months of the year. Helps others write resumes and do other computer teachings at her job. Her daughter and her grand children are her Greatest Gifts. But, her talents do not stop with her. Her daughter also is a writer and a pretty good comedian as well.
We hope you enjoy the first book.
